PEERLESS BOURBON SPOTTED AT COSTCO FOR $50 IN KANSAS CITY

A Kansas City Costco had Peerless bourbon on display for $50, far below its typical $70 to $100 retail range.

The bottle, Peerless Small Batch Straight Bourbon Whiskey, showed up in photos from the Midtown Costco in Kansas City, Missouri, that landed on Reddit and drew coverage from Tasting Table on May 13, 2026.

The site said “eagle-eyed keyboard jockeys” noticed the Small Batch bottle in the Reddit photos, which showed several whiskeys on display.

The $50 price undercuts the $70 to $100 the bourbon typically retails for, the outlet said.

What’s in the bottle

Peerless Small Batch was introduced in 2019. It carries a four-year age statement and sits around 110 proof, with the exact strength varying by batch.

The brand is a historic bourbon label that a modern company revived, and it dates back more than a century.

AOL’s version of the write-up listed citrus, honey and toasted nuts on the nose. The palate brings brown sugar, cocoa and leather, and the finish has warm spice with a touch of fruit.

The Double Oak next to it

The same photos also showed Peerless Double Oak Bourbon Whiskey. The article put its price at $84.99 but noted the tag was difficult to read.

If that number is right, Double Oak was modestly below what other retailers typically charge, the article said.

Double Oak is twice-aged and has a pronounced oak character. The article said it began by accident, when whiskey from leaky barrels had to be moved into a second set of freshly charred oak barrels.

Costco has been on a roll with new treats, from mini croissant donuts to an apple pie sundae at food courts.

Prices and availability can differ by warehouse, and the $50 tag was spotted at the Midtown location in Kansas City.
