COSTCO’S APPLE PIE SUNDAE IS NOW IN FOOD COURTS FOR $2.99

Costco rolled out a limited-time Apple Pie Sundae at U.S. food courts by October 15, 2026, a cup of vanilla soft serve, apple pie filling and pie crust pieces that rings up at $2.99 at many locations. It is a fall seasonal item, and at North Carolina food courts it took the spot of the summer Strawberry Shortcake Sundae.

The sundae had reached a number of stores by the time Dexerto reported on it. The outlet put the price at the same $2.99 as the earlier Vanilla Crunch and said the cup has between 750 and 770 calories.

Allrecipes described layers of soft serve, apple pie filling and cinnamon-dusted pie crust pieces. It compared the idea to the viral pumpkin-pie-sundae hack, only with apple.

Instagrammer @morganchomps, who goes by MorganChomps, was among the first to try it. “It tastes like apple pie à la mode,” the Instagrammer said in a video, and added that the filling tasted “a little better and almost thicker than a normal canned one would.”

The crust passed inspection too. “They’re not gritty or crunchy. And I love these pieces of crust,” the Instagrammer said.

MyNorthwest found the sundae at the Shoreline, Washington, Costco at lunchtime on October 15. The cup had apple pie filling and crust pieces at the bottom, vanilla soft serve, and more filling and crust on top.

Food reviewers Paul and Jaron, who post as PB&J, called it “the bomb” and said Costco was generous with the apple topping, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Costco-focused creator Veronica Seabrooks called the timing “perfect with fall in full swing.”

Commenters were not calm about it. “I need to stay away from the food court. Jesus Christ, that looks good,” one wrote. Another said: “When you think Costco cannot top the Strawberry Shortcake [Sundae], they do this. I must try.” A third wrote: “Costco food courts doing LTO’s is blowing my mind lately lol.”

The sundae landed during a busy run for the warehouse chain, which has also turned out croissant donuts and, in late September, brought back churros for a limited time.

Where it showed up, and for how much

In North Carolina, the sundae was available by October 15 at Costco locations in Charlotte, Matthews, Mooresville, Raleigh, Apex, Durham and Winston-Salem, The Charlotte Observer reported. An employee at the Indian Land, South Carolina, Costco said there was no word on when it might arrive there.

A Costco food-court notice quoted by the paper read: “New U.S. Food Court Limited Fall Seasonal Item: Apple Pie Sundae (Vanilla Ice Cream, Pie Crust Pieces, and Apple Pie Topping) – $2.99 – will be available for a limited time, replacing the Summer Strawberry Shortcake Sundae.”

The price was not the same everywhere. The Arizona Republic, via Delawareonline, reported $2.49 before tax in Phoenix, $2.99 in Avondale, about $2.70 in Tempe and $2.72 after tax in Paradise Valley.

Staff there offered guesses on how long it would stick around. An Avondale employee thought it might last until the end of November, while Paradise Valley staff said the seasonal item would likely be there for the next couple of months.

On October 29, 2026, the Reno Gazette Journal reported the sundae was on sale for $2.99 at the Costco at 4810 Galleria Pkwy in Sparks, Nevada. A food-court employee there told the paper staff had not been told how long it would be available.
