PILLSBURY RECALLED 735,840 ROLLS OVER POSSIBLE GLASS
The Pillsbury rolls recall covered 735,840 frozen dough rolls sent to Walmart bakeries over possible glass contamination.
General Mills started the recall on June 19, 2026, CBS News reported. It hit two Pillsbury frozen dough products: Bread Rolls Hard Roll Dough and Bread Rolls Kaiser Roll Dough.
The stated reason was “potential foreign material (glass),” according to the FDA recall notice.
What was recalled
The Hard Roll Dough made up the bigger share, at 554,400 rolls.
The Kaiser Roll Dough added another 181,440 rolls, bringing the combined total to 735,840.
Both products were distributed to Walmart in-store bakeries across 19 states, NBC Los Angeles reported.
The affected lots carried “Better if used by” dates of October 12 and October 13, 2026 for the Hard Roll Dough, and October 13, 2026 for the Kaiser Roll Dough, according to Good Housekeeping.
The dough was not the kind of product shoppers toss in a cart. It was bulk frozen dough meant mainly for commercial food service, AARP reported, not ordinary consumer packages.
What happened next
On July 13, 2026, the FDA classified the recall as Class II.
NBC Los Angeles quoted the FDA’s definition of that category as a situation where use “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
The Class II classification on July 13, 2026 is the latest confirmed step in the recall.
