JOSEPH LEFT HIS WIFE A STICKY NOTE BEFORE MEMORY LOSS
An Alzheimer’s sticky note from a husband named Joseph told his wife he never forgets how wonderful she is, and strangers online are still crying over it.
Joseph’s wife found the handwritten note, which he left during his Alzheimer’s journey, according to a March 2, 2026 story by Colleen Dilthey Thomas at InspireMore. The note was featured in an Instagram post from Pubity.
What the note said
The message is short. It opens with a postscript and ends with his name.
“P.S. I forget a lot of things but – I never forget how wonderful you are. Love Joseph,” the note read, as transcribed by InspireMore.
That is all there is to it: one sticky note, one sentence and a signature. InspireMore called it a testament to the couple’s love.
The outlet also wrote that Alzheimer’s affects both patients and the people who love them, and that people in the early stages may recognize changes in their lives.
How the internet reacted
The Pubity caption pointed to the scale of the disease. “With Alzheimer’s affecting more than 7 million Americans, many families saw their own stories in Joseph’s words, calling it a rare, lasting reminder of love through loss,” the caption read.
Commenters zeroed in on the handwriting. One wrote that the writing gets “a little shaky at the end,” adding, “You can tell he was fighting to get those words down while he still could. Absolutely heart-wrenching.”
Another commenter wrote, “Love truly leaves a lasting mark, even through memory loss.”
One person admitted to the familiar feeling with a comment that read, “Another day of me crying on the Internet for strangers.”
The note left others thinking about the couple’s future. “I hope they find each other again in a better place and time one day,” a commenter wrote.
