BRIDE’S POST WITH HER 4-FOOT GROOM HIT 140 MILLION VIEWS
A Canadian bride who “never prayed for someone tall” married a 4-foot groom, and their wedding post drew more than 140 million views. Anita Wing Lee and Tim Muttoo’s photos spread across the internet and left commenters thanking them for restoring their faith in love.
The couple married on June 21, 2025, at St. Andrew’s Church in Canada, PEOPLE reported. By December 2, 2025, the wedding post had passed 140 million views, Salt&Light reported.
“I never prayed for someone tall,” Anita wrote in the post. She wrote that God’s answer was: “Well, it wasn’t on your list!”
Her message to others still searching: “If you’re still waiting for your special person, take heart. Keep the faith.”
How they found each other
Tim was born in Toronto with achondroplasia, a genetic disorder that resulted in dwarfism. His parents, both teachers who immigrated from Guyana and the West Indies, encouraged him and did not treat dwarfism as a deficit, he said.
His father even made a device so he could work light switches as a child, Tim recalled. He grew up to be an engineer, inventor and speaker, and co-founded a clean-water charity after a mission trip to Uganda.
Anita’s parents were pastors. She completed a Master of Divinity, pursued an MBA and became a brand strategist and content producer. Her adventures include volunteering in Greek refugee camps, hiking to Everest Base Camp and becoming a certified free diver.
The two met through mutual friends and were friends first. Their website said they had both travelled separately through East Africa years before they met.
Anita later moved into the townhouse complex where Tim’s friends Jordan and Sonya lived, and the neighbors became friends. After she moved to Niagara, Tim’s visits grew frequent, with meals, walks and long conversations.
A trip to California for the charity brought a conversation that made Anita realize Tim wanted to be more than an occasional friend. She said she prayed about whether to return his feelings, weighed his faith and character, and read Love without Limits by Nick Vujicic and Kanae Miyahara along the way.
Her parents were initially concerned about the couple’s future. Anita and her parents attended family therapy, and both parents eventually came to accept Tim.
“I had never connected with someone like this before,” Tim said. He said he felt God tell him, “If there’s love, it will grow.”
The couple got engaged on September 30, 2024.
What happened next
The wedding post brought thousands of messages from people who said the couple’s story challenged stereotypes and encouraged those who had lost hope in love. One recurring comment: “Thank you for helping us believe again in true love.”
“There’s a Hollywood cliché of what a couple looks like and we were an anomaly,” Anita said.
Tim said on the Dream Brave podcast: “She didn’t fall in love with my body, she fell in love with who I am.”
Not everyone was kind. Anita said some commenters made snide remarks suggesting Tim must be rich to have married her. The couple said money was not central to their relationship, and that Tim left a corporate career to pursue his work and would not have been as financially wealthy as if he had stayed.
Some viewers also speculated that the wedding images were AI-generated.
The couple’s official website later reported 200 million views for the story. CP24 reported that the story kept circulating on social media, including an Instagram post with more than 17,000 likes.
On October 15, 2026, CP24 published a follow-up interview with Anita and Tim about the viral story and the online reactions.
