Conservatives Are Pissed “The Mandalorian” Star Gina Carano Got Canned

On Wednesday, LucasFilms released a statement saying that actress and former MMA fighter Gina Carano was no longer employed by the company and they had “no plans for her to be in the future.”

Carano was a recurring character on Disney+ breakaway hit The Mandalorian as Cara Dune. An increasingly critical look at her controversial social media posts led to outrage from fans, culminating with a particular inappropriate post about the Holocaust.

In her post, Carano compared the treatment of Jewish people to how conservatives are “treated” in the U.S., sharing a graphic photo of a woman being chased through the streets.

The post was deleted, but it was shared everywhere and the hashtag #FireGinaCarano began to trend. In their statement, the Daily Mail reports that LucasFilm added that Carano’s “social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

Though this post seems to have brought things to a head, Carano has also posted about voter fraud in the 2020 election, and mocked people for wearing masks, posting images of people wearing masks like blindfolds.

And then just before it was announced she’d been fired, she shared a picture of letters with the phrase “Jeff Epstein didn’t kill himself” mixed in. So, we do agree about one thing

Conservatives are voicing their anger over the move from Disney and LucasFilms, and have been saying that they’re canceling the service across social media:

After the announcement, Carano posted a photo of herself looking good on a lounge with the words, “This is going to be fun,” so I guess she’s optimistic:

On the other hand, a new episode of WandaVision is on tomorrow, so I’m betting some cancellations are going to be delayed.
