TRUMP MEDIA FLOATED $100,000 A MONTH FOR FASTER TRUTH POSTS

Trump Media discussed charging trading firms up to $100,000 a month for Truth API, a faster feed of Truth Social posts.

The Financial Times reported on July 17, 2026, that Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), which owns Truth Social, talked about charging hedge funds, trading firms and institutional investors as much as $100,000 monthly for the fastest version of the service.

Truth API would supply posts in a machine-readable format with lower latency, Coinpedia reported. The feed would run around the clock, letting automated systems process public posts without waiting for standard-channel updates.

TMTG had announced Truth API a day earlier as a licensed, real-time business-to-business data feed. In a statement filed with the SEC, the company said: “Truth API delivers a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform’s most market-moving Truths while advancing our strategy to monetize proprietary assets through a high-margin, recurring revenue stream.”

What TMTG said it was selling

The feed covers posts from the platform’s highest-ranking accounts. CNBC reported that the announcement never mentioned Donald Trump by name.

TMTG said institutions could get access starting August 1, 2026. It also said it had already signed customers before launch and was onboarding more partners.

The company said posts are delivered in milliseconds and pitched the product at high-frequency and algorithmic trading firms hurt by information delays. A TMTG spokesperson told The Straits Times that delivery was significantly faster than a regular Truth Social push notification.

Before Truth API, TMTG said, no official integrated API existed, and firms tracking influential posts relied on manual monitoring. CNBC noted that financial firms use social-media APIs to get market-moving information quickly, and that other platforms offer them too.

The company did not disclose pricing at launch. CNBC later reported that TMTG also pitched a discounted $60,000 monthly plan for firms that agreed to a three-year term, citing sources familiar with the discussions who asked not to be named.

Why traders cared

Coinpedia pointed to a Trump post saying “a great time to buy” shortly before a pause in tariffs and a subsequent S&P 500 rally. It also said his praise of Nvidia and Apple, and his comments on geopolitical events including Iran tensions, have moved company shares and oil prices.

Some hedge-fund executives told the Financial Times that firms might feel forced to subscribe so they are not left behind if rivals get market-moving information milliseconds earlier. One said that kind of head start could create a significant competitive disadvantage.

The service also drew political attention. Fortune reported that Rep. Jamie Raskin, the House Judiciary Committee’s ranking member, opened an investigation into the “scheme.”

What the CEO said

On August 24, 2026, Yahoo Finance reported that TMTG CEO Devin McGurn defended the service and said the company had more than 10 institutional customer agreements. He also said it had signed a major financial-data distributor.

McGurn framed the speed edge as a product of how the internet works. “We give a 50 millisecond advantage in that post, but that is the internet delivery, right?” he said.

He said TMTG wants to go well beyond high-frequency trading shops. “We want to license this not just to high-frequency trading platforms, but to retail trading platforms. So you take it from Wall Street to Main Street, and then go on to other types of information services,” McGurn said. His stated targets also included large language models and prediction markets.
