MEGAN THEE STALLION RESCUED A DOG SET TO BE PUT DOWN

Tyger, the Megan Thee Stallion rescue dog, was due to be put down the day before she took him in.

Megan introduced her new pup in an Instagram video posted on March 27, 2026, and she opened with a simple announcement: “I’ve rescued a dog.”

She told fans she was brand new to the idea of kill shelters. “Because I was yesterday years old when I found out that there’s such a thing as a kill shelter, and they are putting down dogs when they cannot find them a home,” Megan said in the video.

People described kill shelters as shelters that accept all animals but may euthanize healthy pets because of space constraints.

Megan did not sit on the news once she learned Tyger was in danger.

“That is insane, they were going to put him down yesterday,” she said.

Her next move was immediate. “No wait. Just give him to me. I’ll take him,” Megan said.

Meet the new son

The video shows Tyger snuggled against Megan’s neck while she held him.

“Aww, my new son,” she said. “He’s so happy.”

The caption kept the family theme going. The New York Post reported that it read, “Meet my new rescue son TYGER.”

Tyger joined a busy household. Megan already had a French bulldog named 4oe, pronounced “Foe,” along with his three puppies and a Maine Coon cat named Nine.

Megan said she was unsure how 4oe and the puppies would respond to the newcomer.

Fans showed up for the post. It had more than 637,000 likes when the Post covered it.

The announcement came while Megan was starring as Zidler in the Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, E! News reported.

Tyger stayed part of Megan’s story after the video faded from feeds. A People celebrity-dog roundup published on May 9, 2026, continued to identify him as a dog Megan rescued in March 2026.
