UTAH COUPLE MARRIED 60 YEARS RENEWED VOWS AT TACO BELL
A Utah couple marked 60 years of marriage with a Taco Bell vow renewal, and the restaurant gave them free daily meals.
Mickey Muhlstein and Jo-Ann Muhlstein, both 81, renewed their vows on June 20, 2026, at the Taco Bell in West Valley City, Utah. The couple have eight children, and family and friends turned out to watch them do it all over again.
The location was no random pick. The Muhlsteins ate lunch together at Taco Bell every day for 12 years, ABC7 Chicago reported. Mickey usually ordered Taco Supremes, while Jo-Ann went for more variety.
Mickey gave his vows a Taco Bell twist. “Mild, hot, on fire, our love has been strong enough to survive every twist, and not just cinnamon,” he said.
Vows in a booth
The couple held the renewal in a booth. Taco Bell Area Coach Miguelina Mueses officiated, ABC4 reported.
The couple considered Mueses one of several Taco Bell employees who had become like family. The celebration also included fajita street chalupas.
Their love story began long before the booth. They met in high school, in the back of English class.
“No matter what happens, I will never let go in our aging years,” Jo-Ann said during her vows.
Mickey promised, “I will love you for every day that God blessedly grants us together.” He also told his wife, “Growing old with you has been the greatest gift to my life.”
Friends and family cried during the ceremony.
“I just wish that everyone could have that and find that in life to have that that kind of love for each other,” said Amy, one of the couple’s children.
It was a far sweeter Taco Bell story than a woman arrested for allegedly threatening Taco Bell workers over a long wait for food.
The free meals
After a grandson presented the rings and the couple exchanged them, Mueses made calls and confirmed their daily meal would be free.
Taco Bell gave the couple free daily meals at the restaurant, People reported on July 10, 2026.
