A woman has been arrested after threatening Taco Bell workers with a gun over a long wait for food
The Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office recently responded to a tense situation at a Taco Bell in Chester, Maryland. This incident occurred on June 18, 2026, after a verbal dispute between a customer and the restaurant staff escalated significantly. Authorities arrived on the scene following reports that a woman had displayed a firearm during the argument.
Upon their arrival, deputies quickly identified and detained two individuals. One of the people detained matched the description of the suspect provided by the restaurant employees. Officials later identified the primary suspect as 30-year-old Ashley Andrews, a local resident of Chester.
Witnesses and employees informed the deputies that the confrontation began because Andrews was unhappy with the wait time for her food. The disagreement quickly intensified as she began arguing directly with the staff members. During the heated exchange, investigators report that Andrews challenged the employees by telling them to meet her outside in the parking lot.
The situation turned even more serious when Andrews allegedly lifted her shirt to reveal a handgun. According to official reports from the sheriff’s office, she used threatening language toward the employees while doing so. Surveillance footage and video captured on a cellphone by one of the workers showed and confirmed these actions.
The recorded footage specifically showed Andrews lifting her shirt and placing her hand on the grip of the firearm. Because of these documented actions, police took Andrews into custody at the scene. She now faces several serious legal allegations following her behavior inside the fast food establishment.
Authorities have officially charged Andrews with second-degree assault and possession of a handgun on her person. Additionally, she faces charges for reckless endangerment and disturbing the peace or disorderly conduct. Beyond the criminal charges, the sheriff’s office confirmed that she has been trespassed from the Taco Bell location.
