INFLUENCER DIED AFTER 40ML PENILE FILLER, CORONER FOUND
Influencer Igho Ubiribo died in Bangkok after a penile filler procedure, and a coroner later blamed the injection.
Ubiribo, 43, died on March 6, 2026, the day after the treatment at an unnamed clinic, The Independent reported.
He was a British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer who also went by “Tiny,” “Denisi” and “Ego.” Other reports described him as a Nigerian content creator living in London.
What happened in Bangkok
The procedure took place on March 5, 2026. The injection contained about 40 milliliters of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine, The Straits Times reported.
Several hours later, Ubiribo developed chest pain while he was getting a massage.
He collapsed and was taken by ambulance to a Bangkok hospital.
A CT scan was planned, but he lost consciousness before it could be performed, People reported.
He received CPR for 101 minutes before he was pronounced dead, inquest records showed.
The clinic’s account
Thailand’s health ministry said the clinic told officials that Ubiribo had undergone five penile-enlargement procedures there.
The clinic also reportedly said a doctor advised splitting the final procedure into separate sessions, but Ubiribo asked for it to be done in one. A Thai health official relayed that account from clinic management.
What happened next
An inquest hearing on August 21, 2026 considered the post-mortem and toxicology findings. It was held at Westminster Coroner’s Court, People reported.
The inquest records said the cause of death involved the hyaluronic acid injection and a pulmonary embolism.
A UK post-mortem found material in his lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used in the injection, the New Straits Times reported.
Assistant Coroner Jean Harkin concluded that the cosmetic procedure caused the fatal pulmonary embolism, Yahoo Entertainment reported.
Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health said on September 7, 2026 that Minister Pattana Phromphat had directed the Department of Health Service Support and the Food and Drug Administration to investigate the clinic.
