RANCHER, 62, ALLEGEDLY SHOT GIRLFRIEND, 24, WHO DUMPED HIM
Brazilian businesswoman Priscila Lacerda Custodio, 24, was allegedly shot dead on October 27, 2026 by her boyfriend of about four months, cattle rancher João Roberto Bolelli, 62, shortly after she told him she was ending the relationship. Police registered the killing as femicide, and a court has ordered Bolelli’s preventive detention.
Custodio, who worked in digital marketing, had been afraid of Bolelli. She asked her brother and a friend to go with her when she drove to Rifaina, São Paulo, to return a pickup truck she had been using, the New York Post reported.

According to the outlet, the two began arguing by phone before she arrived, and she said she had had enough. When she got there, Bolelli allegedly opened fire and hit her in the chest and arm.
Her brother took her to a hospital in Rifaina, where she died, G1 reported. Witnesses said Bolelli also pointed the gun at her brother, who ran for cover while the rancher chased him. Bolelli then fled.

Her brother told police that Custodio had said she wanted to leave and did not want to continue the relationship. G1 also reported that the police report mentions a cellphone Bolelli had given her, which he allegedly demanded back.
A friend who was not named told Globo that Custodio had complained Bolelli hired people to watch her and threatened to kill her. He also grilled her about her trips and accused her of cheating, the friend said. G1 reported that a friend said Custodio told her Bolelli allegedly assaulted and threatened her on October 23, 2026, four days before the shooting.

Another friend, Juliana Amaral, told Globo that Custodio was a “wonderful person” whose life “was cut short by an evil man.”
Custodio was from Perdizes, in Minas Gerais, roughly 117 kilometers from Rifaina, according to G1.
Bolelli has a record. In December 2021 he was sentenced to three months and 15 days in an open regime for violating protective orders that a former partner had obtained after a five-year relationship with him. The São Paulo Court of Justice upheld the conviction in April 2022, and it became final that May.
A court in Pedregulho ordered Bolelli’s preventive detention on October 28, 2026. His legal representative told G1 the case was being reviewed and that Bolelli had not been in touch.
