MINNESOTA TEACHER GOT SIX MONTHS OVER STUDENT RELATIONSHIP
One hotel photo wrecked the timeline Anne Margaret Bacon gave police.
Bacon, a former special-education teacher at Tartan High School in Oakdale, Minnesota, was sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to a third-degree sex-crime charge, the New York Post reported on October 28, 2026. The charge involved a relationship prohibited by her profession.

The relationship was with a male student. Maeil Business Newspaper, which carried the Post’s account, described it as inappropriate and said the student was still enrolled while it went on.
One photo, four bookings
When police questioned her, Bacon had a tidy answer. She said the sexual relationship began only after the student graduated in June 2023.

A photograph of the two of them together at a hotel contradicted that, according to the account.
Investigators also found that Bacon booked rooms at the same hotel at least four times. The dates included May 8, June 4 and June 11, 2023, plus a booking over the July Independence Day holiday period.
Witnesses told a different story about how the pair carried themselves there. They said Bacon and the student behaved discreetly, apparently to avoid being noticed.
Witnesses also testified that Bacon spent time with students at the hotel and allegedly provided alcohol to minors. That allegation came from the witnesses. Bacon’s guilty plea was to the third-degree sex-crime charge.
The student himself told police he had slept at Bacon’s apartment.
Bacon quit the school in February 2024. She submitted her resignation the same day police questioned her.
