CHIPOTLE’S SCHOOL SPIRIT BOGO CAPPED FREE ENTRÉES AT 5
The Chipotle School Spirit BOGO gave fans in school gear a free entrée with a purchase, but only five per check.
The deal ran Thursday, August 20, 2026, at participating U.S. restaurants, from 3 p.m. local time until close. To qualify, guests had to wear school apparel or accessories, and Chipotle’s examples included spirit wear, tees, sweatshirts, jerseys and hats.

Chipotle announced the offer on August 17, 2026, as part of its back-to-school push.
“Back-to-school season is all about showing your school spirit and getting back into the routines that make the week feel a little easier,” Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s senior vice president of brand marketing, said in the announcement.
How the BOGO worked
For every free entrée, a customer had to buy an entrée of equal or greater value in the same transaction.
Only the person wearing the school apparel or accessories could redeem the free entrée, and the restaurant decided what counted.
Each check was limited to five free entrées, subject to availability.
The offer was good in restaurants only. Catering, mobile, online and delivery orders were excluded.
The purchased items still earned Chipotle Rewards points. The deal could not be combined with coupons, promotions or other special offers, according to Chipotle’s terms and conditions.
August 20, 2026, was also the last day to play Chipotle IQ for a chance to win prizes, including BOGO entrée codes, USA Today reported. That contest was separate from the School Spirit deal.
What came next
Chipotle paired the school promo with a second deal called Chipotle Sundays, which ran on consecutive Sundays from August 23, 2026, through September 6, 2026.
On those days, customers in the U.S. and Canada could get a free entrée after ordering at least two others once the clock passed 3 p.m. local time.
Unlike the school gear deal, this one was digital only. Customers had to order on Chipotle’s website or app with promo code SUNDAYS, and the order had to be a same-day order from a participating restaurant.
The free item was the lowest-priced regular entrée. Extra protein and guacamole or queso blanco toppings were excluded, and third-party delivery platforms did not qualify, per the Sundays terms.
Chipotle said “Chipotle Sundays” had become an end-of-weekend ritual among fans on TikTok. The company described it as a quiet meal at home or an easy dinner with friends, and pitched it as a way to “reset” for the week ahead.
“Whether you’re repping your school or resetting with Chipotle on a Sunday, these offers are about meeting our guests in the moments that matter to them with real food and great value,” Perdue said.
The announcement also pointed college students to Chipotle U Rewards, a loyalty program the company said it introduced during the previous back-to-school season. Members get bonus points when they sign up and earn points faster on purchases. Students already enrolled in Chipotle Rewards can validate their enrollment through ID.me to join.
Chipotle’s School Spirit BOGO page was updated on October 2, 2026, and still lists the offer as valid on August 20, 2026.
