MOM HAD DAILY SEX WITH HUSBAND FOR A YEAR TO FEEL CONFIDENT

A writer who hid her body after her third child was born took on a daily sex challenge with her husband that lasted a year.

Brittany Gibbons and her husband, Andy, had sex every day for a year, except when travel or stomach flu got in the way. Gibbons laid out the whole experience in an account VT published on June 1, 2026.

Why she started

After her third child was born, Gibbons’ body image took a hit. She said she caught sight of herself in a mirror after a shower and wondered, “Who let my mom in here?”

“From that point on, I didn’t let myself be naked,” she said.

She hid her body and avoided being fully undressed in front of Andy. She also worried he might not remember what her body looked like.

Then a friend told her that she and her husband had sex every day since getting married. Gibbons decided to try a year-long challenge of her own to confront her insecurities.

“Andy, as expected, was on board,” she wrote in Women’s Health UK.

What changed

It did not start out romantic. At first, Gibbons found the commitment felt more like a task than something enjoyable.

As the months went on, she said, the couple became more affectionate and spent more time connecting, emotionally and physically.

Around three months in, Gibbons said she became less critical of her appearance. She grew comfortable being naked around Andy and less anxious about being seen or touched.

“I was no longer hyper-aware of the sounds my curvy body was making,” she said, “Like the way my thighs clapped together or my tummy smacked his.”

She kept her sense of humor about the physical side of the challenge, too. “I’ll admit, my pelvis and thighs welcomed the rest,” she said.

Gibbons was clear that daily intimacy was no magic fix for a marriage. “Having regular sex with my husband isn’t making my marriage divorce-proof or immune to infidelity or angst, but it is helping me feel confident enough in my skin to survive it if it does happen,” she said.

What she did get out of it, she said, was feeling more secure in her relationship and in her own skin, LADbible reported.

“I learned that I am a better wife, a better mother and a better woman when I take the time to be secure in my relationship and selfish about feeling good about myself,” she said.

Where they are now

Gibbons said the challenge ended several years before her June 1, 2026 account. The couple no longer feels a need to have sex every day, she said.
