IKEA AND XBOX UNVEILED A 9-PIECE GAMING FURNITURE LINE
The IKEA Xbox collection turned gaming gear into furniture, from a rolling TV stand to a D-pad-shaped cushion.
IKEA and Xbox unveiled the nine-piece YXSTABY collection at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, on August 26, 2026. The two companies developed it together, and video of the collection is on Instagram.
IKEA said the collection was “designed to feel at home wherever play happens.” It was built for gaming in shared, multipurpose spaces and alongside everyday home life, the company said.
IKEA said a designer from each team worked together on every piece. It said the project grew from conversations with Xbox and a shared focus on people’s gaming-at-home needs.
An IKEA speaker called the initial collaboration “a very natural fit” on the Official Xbox Podcast, which premiered October 1, 2026.
What is in the collection
The TV stand rolls between rooms and has storage for gaming gear at the back. IKEA described it as the first of its kind.
A toolbox stores controllers, cables and hardware, and its lid doubles as a laptop stand.
The rolling side table has sliding doors and space to charge devices. The monitor stand is designed to raise a single screen or a pair, with room for accessories underneath.
There is also a thumbstick-inspired stool that tilts with the user’s movement, T3 reported.
A gaming lounge chair with storage pockets is part of the line too, Wallpaper* reported.
Dezeen reported the range includes a green D-pad-shaped cushion and a D-pad-shaped platter. It also called the TV stand IKEA’s first since a failed attempt.
The Gamescom display drew a crowd. The mock living room was “as popular as any game or gaming device,” T3 reported.
Where it went on sale
Engadget reported that U.S. sales started September 30, 2026. Prices ran from $18 for the D-pad platter to $180 for the rolling side table.
On October 1, 2026, IKEA said the collection would be available in stores and online in Canada.
The green D-pad cushion was priced at £12, T3 reported.
By October 15, 2026, the collection was available to buy in UK stores and online while stocks last, Wallpaper* reported.
