GISELLE THE PUPPY PULLED ALIVE FROM EARTHQUAKE RUBBLE IN VENEZUELA AFTER FIVE HOUR RESCUE

Amidst the devastation of the 2026 earthquakes in Venezuela, search and rescue teams discovered a flicker of hope in the ruins of Residencial El Palmar. For four days, a small dog named Giselle remained trapped beneath the remnants of a collapsed building in Caraballeda. Rescuers spent hours conducting a meticulous search operation before they finally located her position.

Footage shared by El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele captured the dramatic moment the team heard barking coming from deep underneath the debris. One dedicated crew member eventually reached the animal and pulled her safely from the rubble. Onlookers cheered as the small dog finally emerged into the light after ninety-six hours of isolation.

Following her extraction, medical staff provided immediate care to ensure the canine’s stability. A video shows a rescue team member using a syringe to feed Giselle soft dog food while she rested on a blanket. Despite her harrowing ordeal, reports from The Independent indicate that the dog is currently in good health.

President Bukele has used social media to help reunite the pet with her family. He encouraged anyone claiming to be her owner to approach the teams on the ground with photo or video evidence. As of the latest reports, however, her owners have not yet been identified or come forward to claim her.

The incident occurred following a “severe seismic doublet sequence” that began on June 24, 2026. The country suffered a 7.2 magnitude earthquake followed quickly by a magnitude 7.5 tremor. Experts noted that the second quake represents the strongest seismic activity the South American nation has experienced in more than a century.

The scale of the tragedy remains immense, with the city of La Guaira suffering the most significant impact. National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez confirmed that the death toll has reached 1,719 people. Officials also reported that over 46,000 citizens remain missing while emergency crews continue their tireless work across the disaster zone.
