One TikTok influencer’s new husband found himself in hot water after recognizing former porn star Mia Khalifa in their Paris hotel.
Mia Khalifa is a popular social media influencer known for her brief stint in the porn industry and was one of the most searched-for porn stars on PornHub for years after leaving the industry.
Her face is well-known, as evidenced by the fact that Lya Mariella’s husband recognized her immediately while they were enjoying a Paris dinner on their honeymoon.
In a video she posted to TikTok, Mariella looked unamused and took a long drink of her white wine, saying that her husband got “way too excited” and ignored her to “text all of his guy friends” that he’d seen the former adult star.
Mariella was understandably not happy with the situation, and even Mia Khalifa found the video and shared in her annoyance with their men.
Khalifa commented, “Girl my man was on his phone the whole time, I say we throw them all away and go shopping tomorrow.”
The ladies exchanged a brief conversation, with Mariella replying, “I’m currently at hermes across the street, feel free to meet me here,” to which Khalifa responded, “Good, he owes you a birkin.”
The most popular styles of Birkin bags range from $10,145 to $12,450 according to InStyle, so definitely a pricey apology, and shockingly one that Mariella’s new hubby delivered!
Not hours later, the two women were filmed by the apologetic husband holding the Birkin bag between them.
“I’m here at the christening of the Birkin… we’re not going to dunk it in water because we don’t do that to a Birkin,” Khalifa joked. “This was the best meeting ever and also her husband that we were talking sh-t about is the one filming this right now.”
Mariella added, “What a time to be alive.”
The women hugged, and overall seemed happy with the events of the day. Khalifa herself shared a screenshot of one of Mariella’s TikToks to her Twitter with the caption, “This influencer staying at my hotel in Paris posted a TikTok feeling bad cause her man was excited to see me walk by at dinner last night, and this morning he bought her a birkin to make up for it. A *BIRKIN*!!”
Khalifa went on to share a funny skit the three of them recorded with a text overlay that says, “When you’re about to cuss him out for recognising Mia Khalifa but he hits you with the uno reverse: birkin edition.”
