As if men didn’t spend enough time regulating other people’s bodies last week, a viral video showing a guy demanding women cover up while at the beach has people outraged at the entitlement and audacity he felt to go to all that trouble.
Mia (@ggarbagefairy) and her friends were just lounging on the sand when they were approached by Logan Dorn. In his own video recounting the incident, Dorn says he was paddle boarding with his family when one of them decided they all had to find a different area of the beach to hang out in because there were women “showing too much” and they were horrified that their young children may see.
Apparently he decided the logical course of action, rather than to just continue with the already absurd plan to move away from women in bikinis, was to confront the women and demand to know why they were dressed “this way.”
“I’m hot and I like women, so please leave us alone, kindly,” one of the women said. “I’m at the beach in my bathing suit.”
“That’s a thong and that’s a bra,” Logan claimed, seemingly unfamiliar with bikinis as a concept. “That is a f—king bathing suit,” she replied.
Logan went on to demand that they “take young eyes into consideration” because children “don’t need to see pornography right in front of their eyes.”
“You’re flaunting your stuff,” he said.
“I’m not flaunting anything. Don’t look at me,” one suggested in return. Going full Biblical, she reminded him that the Bible would tell him to “gouge your eyes out” if he was having a problem with lust brought on by their beach-appropriate attire.
“Here’s the thing, there’s free will in America. There’s freedom of speech, and if men of God don’t stand up, then our society is going to go down the drain because there’s no morality,” Logan insisted.
The back and forth went on for a while longer, as Logan attempted to insult them and put motivation on their decision to wear bikinis to the beach, calling it a lack of self-esteem and displaying an unsurprising double standard for men wearing just swim trunks.
Just as he had a number of thoughts he felt compelled to express about these women, the internet had a whole lot of thoughts to share about Logan and his atrocious behavior.
Now, Logan didn’t take very kindly to people telling him what he should or shouldn’t do, or making judgments on his character based on his actions, despite the fact that he had no problem doing exactly that to these women just based on what they were wearing. He released multiple videos telling “his side” of the story, citing a “righteous anger” that came over him to go harass the women on his ongoing crusade against pornography.
He was also determined to “refute” all the assumptions strangers made about him one by one. “The truth is, guys, God knows my heart,” Logan said. “And he knows your heart as well.”
A graciousness that, one can only assume based on his behavior, does not extend to women dressed in swimwear he personally deems inappropriate.
Meanwhile, two of the young women in the video released their own follow-up, showing off the outfits Logan was so offended by and reminding everyone that it was a public beach and there were plenty of people in swimwear of all kinds, including bikinis.
“We were the only ones that were just a female group, and that is why he approached us,” Mia suggested. “The fragile masculinity? Off the charts.”
