The great thing about the internet is that there’s space for everyone to find a group of people who share their interests, no matter how niche, or even bizarre, those interests may end up being.
Which is why it should come as no surprise that in the year of our lord 2020, there is a Facebook group dedicated entirely to having all of its members pretend to be part of an ant colony.
The group, aptly named “A group where we all pretend to be ants in an ant colony,” boasts nearly two million members and is described as a place where people “worship The Queen and do ant stuff.”
As we’ve all spent the last several months stuck inside thanks to COVID-19, people spending all their time online pretending to be ants makes just about as much sense as anything else to be honest.
A lot of the posts revolve around things ants love, like food and lifting things.
There are also so. Many. Ant. Puns.

And the group’s members are incredibly dedicated to their new lives, as ants should be.

It’s hard to say how long something like this will last, but as long as it’s bringing people so much joy, who among us can judge? The darkest timeline is truly also becoming the strangest timeline, that’s for sure.
