Pierre, who recently went viral on Twitter with her advice to “practice your love languages on yourself,” is a writer and founder of the Queens Company, an organization based in Boston dedicated to empowering women of color by hosting workshops, networking events, and proving a support system.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Jessicah has made it a priority to work towards recovering from past traumas. Already on a “self-love and healing journey,” Jessicah told Bored Panda: “A friend of mine told me to be more actionable about how I practice self-love and self care so I started exploring what that would look like.”

Pierre says that self-awareness should be a top-priority in our lives. “Spend time with yourself, reflect, unlearn, and relearn until you actually know who you are to your core,” she suggested. “It sounds simple, but society, social media, and our families influence a lot of who we are…it’s easy to lose our true essence amongst the noise.”

Jessicah decided to share her advice and experiences with social media users, and her post now has over 105k retweets and 330k likes. Looks like people are searching for ways to be more compassionate to themselves during this difficult emotional time.

“In other words, don’t wait for someone else to offer you the love you want and deserve,” Pierre concluded. “Start being intentional and actionable about how you love yourself. It makes all the difference.”
