Fans of the TV series Parks & Recreation were almost as excited about Joe Biden on inauguration day as they were about their favorite protagonist trending on Twitter.
Leslie Knope was the character brought to life by Amy Poehler, and she embodied small town liberalism and high achieving do-gooder energy. Knope wanted only two things: to serve her country through local government. And to make love to Joe Biden.
Well, she doesn’t really mention sex, but her obsession with Joe Biden was a recurring joke on the show. In fact, the president made several appearances on the show over the years.
This was back when he was just the vice-president and she was completely floored. As Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States, a lot of people had fun making memes about how Leslie Knope would be doing today. There were so many, her name started trending on Twitter.
