Now this is an interesting — and effective — way to counter-protest. Two 19-year-old activists harnessed the power of Cardi B’s hit “WAP” and used it to make a pastor extremely uncomfortable.
The pastor was protesting outside a North Carolina clinic that performs abortions and Hannah Bauerle and Alex Cueto wanted to interfere. The two are “defenders” at the clinic, which means they help patients feel safe as they enter the clinic. It’s common for anti-abortion activists to harass the people coming inside, and clinics often have escorts like Bauerle and Cueto help get patients safely in the building.
Recently, Bauerle and Cueto devised a plan to troll religious anti-abortion activists — loudly recite the lyrics to “WAP” as a pastor attempts to preach a sermon.
As we all know by now, WAP stands for “wet a-s p-ssy” and has lots of delightfully explicit lyrics. The Cardi B/Megan Thee Stallion hit has made a lot of people uncomfortable — especially conservative Christians.
It turns out Bauerle and Cueto are pros at making the conservative protesters uncomfortable. Both frequently post their counter-protests to TikTok, where we get to experience the fun vicariously through them.
Seriously, this feud has been going on for MONTHS.
And even has a cast of recurring characters.
Keep trollin’, ladies. We love it.
