Joseph Epstein’s Wall Street Journal op-ed downplaying the titles of incoming First Lady Dr. Jill Biden continues to rear its misogynistic head.
Of course, following behind Epstein and Ben Shapiro’s remarks is none other than Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who added nastiness to the already-unnecessary discourse. For the third night in a row, lacking in substance for real news, the host ridiculed Dr. Biden’s degrees on-air, in what was his most extended rant on the subject.
Carlson claimed he read Dr. Biden’s 130-page dissertation that she wrote in 2006 to complete her Ed.D. in educational leadership at the University of Delaware, called, “Student Retention at the Community College Level: Meeting Students’ Needs.”
“Dr. Jill needs reading glasses, either that, or she’s borderline illiterate,” he insisted. “There are typos everywhere, including in the first graph of the introduction. Dr. Jill can’t write. She can’t think clearly, either.”
In extravagant hyperbole, Carlson announced the dissertation as “our national shame” and tried dismissing her accomplishments by essentially proposing that the University of Delaware was an inferior institution.
He then framed Dr. Biden’s use of the title as part of a larger class warfare tactic.
Of course, he’s had no issue whatsoever calling non-medical Dr. Sebastian Gorka by the title. The British-born Hungarian-American earned a political science doctorate from Corvinus University in Budapest.
There’s no word on if Carlson also read or had comments on Dr. Gorka’s dissertation.
