A woman named Emily Taylor Parker on TikTok posted a video of herself tricking her friend into going to a bar in her bathrobe. According to the Daily Dot, Parker is based in Alabama and is a Donald Trump supporter. The focus of her TikTok is on embarrassing her friend, tagged as @ann.marita, by taking her to the bar in her bathrobe, but that’s not what is bothering people.
They’re disturbed by the fact that we’re in the midst of a pandemic and that bar is obviously packed:
The bar was identified as SkyBar Café, and they’ve been posting pictures of crowds of people without masks on for weeks, despite the fact that coronavirus cases are on the astronomical rise everywhere in the country:
Parker is a student at Auburn University with 15,000 followers. She’s posted about loving Trump, who has significantly downplayed the virus and encouraged conspiracies about it being a hoax, despite having had it himself.
It’s unclear if she thinks the virus is real, but her friend was wearing a mask when she arrived at the bar. And while many people criticized the prank, it doesn’t really seem like her friend is upset about being surrounded by people when there’s a highly contagious virus circulating. She’s more upset about her bathrobe.
And pulls down the mask for a drink:
The video has been given thousands and thousands of likes and even more views. Let’s hope this doesn’t become the new TikTok trend and if your friend pranks you into going a crowd right now, they’re not your friend.
