Sacha Baron Cohen is arguably best known for his role as the outlandish character, Borat. It was recently announced that he would be reviving the character in a surprise sequel called “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” and occasionally used his verified Borat account to promote his new film. But now, he’s using that account to troll President Donald Trump about his failed COVID response.
Borat tweeted a series of “praises” for the 45th President of the United States, saying that he is a “true leader” and took shots at all of his “accomplishments during the COVID pandemic that’s claimed the lives of over 200,000 lives.
Borat also poked fun at the rally that Trump was advised not to hold but in true Trump fashion, did so anyway.
Cohen and his production team filmed the movie during the pandemic and there were moments where he genuinely feared for his life. There’s one scene where he went to a gun rally in an actual bulletproof vest and almost didn’t make it out alive.
