Wednesday night’s vice presidential debate between Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Kamala Harris covered a wide range of important topics, including the coronavirus pandemic, police reform, the Supreme Court, and so on. And despite Pence’s best attempts to evade questions and interrupt Harris, many people felt that the senator was the clear winner of the debate.
Of course, those people would be wrong because the real MVP of the debate was the fly that up and landed right smack on Pence’s blindingly white head for over two entire minutes. During those minutes, whatever was being said between the two seasoned politicians was lost—as people took in the schadenfreude with an appropriate amount of enthusiasm.
Unsurprisingly, the fracas took over Twitter, as people quickly forgot about the vice president’s goopy eye and began cracking jokes and posting memes about the insect invasion. We’ve compiled some of the best ones, below.
