Kevin McCaffrey, a comedian, is going viral on TikTok and YouTube for making fun of outgoing Vice President Mike Pence. In fact, he has a whole bit about it.
So what’s the big deal? He claims he’s Pence’s cousin, which makes the jokes hit a little differently.
Pence, of course, is on the way out of office, venturing into an uncertain future. Up until recently, he was on the outs with President Donald Trump, although it appears they’ve made nice ahead of what should be an eventful week, to say the least.
“So my cousin is about to lose his job, which normally would not be funny, but he’s the vice president.
He’s Donald Trump’s vice president. It’s Mike Pence,” he says in the first TikTok video.
“I know a lot of y’all hate Mike Pence. I understand that. But what you have to understand is that I’m kind of a hipster about hating Mike Pence,” McCaffrey says, in a spliced-in clip of his standup. “Like, I’ve known he sucked since the ’90s.”
Each subsequent TikTok leads to his YouTube channel, where he runs down the bit, tearing down the distant cousin.
He goes into Pence’s ridiculous op-ed about the animated film Mulan, as well as his use of religion to whatever means necessary.
“He’s my grandma’s first cousin, and he was tight with my grandma,” McCaffrey explains. “And I was tight with my grandma, to the point where I gave her eulogy a year and a half ago. Mike was not there. He was busy ruining something. You gotta follow your bliss. We all have a gift, you know?”
