With the United States 2020 election less than three weeks away, we regret to inform you that Kanye West is evidently still running for president. Just days after the timely release of his first campaign ad, West seems to have gotten his first endorsement from the famous family he married into. On Thursday, Kourtney Kardashian posted of herself wearing a “VOTE KANYE” hat to Instagram Story, along with a link that tells you where to find his merch.
Given the extremely high stakes of this election—democracy as we know it is literally on the line—people were generally not amused by Kardashian’s plug. If Kanye can successfully help Trump siphon votes away from former Vice President Joe Biden, the president will be given an additional four years to help Republicans carry out their most ghoulish plans.
And with over 100 million followers on Instagram, it can’t be argued that the reality TV star doesn’t possess any clout. Though, with all of the family’s wealth and influence, clearly, they won’t be negatively impacted by the outcome of the election.
So it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that people were quick to take Kourtney Kardashian to task for her Kanye endorsement on Twitter.
Interestingly enough, Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian hasn’t endorsed any candidate yet for the 2020 election—though she did announce that she was voting for Hillary Clinton prior to the 2016 election. As of now, a subtle July 4 retweet is the only comment Kardashian West has issued on her other half running for president.
