Dwayne Johnson ridiculed President Donald Trump’s unwillingness to concede the election to Joe Biden on Saturday in his laudatory message to Michael B. Jordan, who was recently named People‘s newest “Sexiest Man Alive.”
“The Rock” shared an Instagram photo from his “Sexiest Man Alive” spread from 2016 along with the Creed actor’s 2020 cover.
“Congrats to my brother @michaelbjordan on the new sexy crown,” Johnson wrote. “I CONCEDE NOTHING.”
Johnson’s caption refers to a tweet from Trump posted on November 15, where the President refused to accept the results despite most outlets eventually calling the election for Biden.
“He only won in the eyes of the FAKE NEWS MEDIA,” Trump tweeted. “I concede NOTHING! We have a long way to go. This was a RIGGED ELECTION!”
Twitter flagged the tweet with a warning that his claim of fraud was “disputed.”
Trump’s campaign had sought to challenge election results in a series of frivolous lawsuits In, but there’s been no credible instance according to various authorities, including the states themselves. Before Trump began transition proceedings, a growing number of Republican lawmakers asked that the President concede.
In his first public endorsement, Johnson, who calls himself “a political independent & centrist,” publicly confirmed support for Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris in September 2020.
“I’ve voted for both parties in the past,” Johnson wrote. “In this critical presidential election, I’m endorsing @JoeBiden & @KamalaHarris.”
“Progress takes courage, humanity, empathy, strength, KINDNESS & RESPECT.”
