On the day that former President Trump finally leaves office and newly inaugurated President Joe Biden is sworn in to begin his term, Donald isn’t the only Trump feeling salty about the whole thing.
According to the Daily Mail, Don Jr, whose opinions we have been subjected to for a heinous four years thanks to nepotism and the Trump family’s penchant for antagonistic divisiveness, posted the following to his Instagram stories:
“Remember in the Lion King when Scar cheated to win the title as king? And the pride land was overrun with the hyenas? And all of the lions lost everything they had built and maintained? Just asking. No reason.”
The post was deleted prior to Biden’s inauguration, but the unsurprisingly daft comparison has been making its way around conservative circles regardless.
In The Lion King — spoilers — Scar basically orchestrates his brother Mufasa’s death and exiles the rightful heir, Simba, so that he can rule over all the lions.
The whole thing appears to be related to Trump’s disgraced and disproven claims that there was widespread voter fraud orchestrated by the Democrats to steal the election from him. One can only guess Don Jr. feels like Simba in this scenario, waiting to claim the throne.
Of course, our democracy is not a monarchy to be inherited by the inept son of a blowhard billionaire who incites riots against his enemies, and the people of the United States elected Joe Biden to the presidency, fair and square.
