CrossFit, the popular fitness brand, has come out publicly to denounce Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has made a great showing of being a CrossFit member.

Taylor Greene has been vocal in her support for QAnon, a completely nonsensical conspiracy theory site, executions for Democrats, and other dangerous notions that are not rooted whatsoever in reality.

Andrew Weinstein, spokesman for CrossFit, told BuzzFeed News, “CrossFit supports respectful fact-based political dialogue to address our common challenges, and we strongly oppose the loathsome and dangerous lies attributed to Ms. Greene.”

Taylor Greene previously made use of her relationship with CrossFit, mentioning it constantly during her campaign. In 2013, she was the co-owner of an affiliate gym in Georgia. She left a few years later but continued to support that gym and use her time as a small business owner to garner support for her campaign.

Greene’s communications director, Nick Dyer, asked BuzzFeed News, “What is wrong with you? Seriously, do you not have anything better to do?” when the outlet requested comment.

In December, she complained that CrossFit was closed in D.C. because of Covid. Gyms, however, were NOT closed at that time — making Taylor Greene’s complaint one more voice of partisan nonsense.

Greene has also claimed that the school shootings that plague America are fake, ran a Facebook group promoting executions of Democrats, and supported violence on her own Facebook.

The House voted to strip Greene of her committee assignments on February 4th.

CrossFit’s founder and former CEO was caught discussing conspiracy theories in a Zoom call in June of 2020; he stepped down after that call.
