While most of us certainly will not miss Donald Trump when he exits the White House in January, what we may miss even less is the president’s “Make America Great Again,” or “MAGA” trademark campaign slogan, which has been brandished across tacky red hats for the past four-plus years. So, taking all of that into consideration, we’re baffled as to who thought “blue MAGA hats” to support incoming President-elect Joe Biden was a good idea. It is not a good idea!

Yet, here we have it. For just $14.99, Amazon is selling these blue MAGA hats, complete with the catchphrase “MADE AMERICA GREAT ALREADY.” Or, as Vice President-elect Kamala Harris famously said, “We did it Joe!”

Except, as the above tweet points out, the thing that Joe and Kamala did was essentially ridding the country of a toxic cult of personality. And ideally, we’d probably want to avoid replacing one for another. Even if the objective is to simply troll Trump supporters, one has to ask the question, is this the best way to begin healing America?

Though the hats—which the Daily Dot points out are in no way affiliated with the Democratic party—have been around for more than a year now, they only went viral just in the past week. And people really, really hate them! Some of the outrage online is even eclipsing vitriol for the original red MAGA hats. Nobody wants this!

Others were quick to remind us that the whole point of kicking Trump out was so we can go back to normal times when people didn’t feel the need to flaunt political propaganda everywhere.

In lieu of these blue MAGA hats, Joe Biden himself had an even better idea with his own hat that stated simply, “We Just Did,” featuring the number “46” underneath. As a very wise woman once said, “when they go low, we go high.” We need that sentiment now, more than ever.
