A lot of people are sitting in judgment of a young woman on TikTok posting under the name @lex.isssss, whose videos are controversial, to say the least. According to her own videos, the 21-year-old lost her baby in a stillbirth at eight months. It’s an occurrence many parents go through, but few speak publicly about.

However, many viewers believe that this TikToker is going too far when it comes to speaking openly about her experience.

The TikToks posted by @lexxxieb about her stillbirth include clear visual images of the dead infant, which many are finding incredibly disturbing. She has made it very clear that she couldn’t care less what anyone thinks about what she’s doing, though she has started disabling comments on all her posts:

Some of her TikToks use meme formats and jokes popular on the app, so it could be the wild tonal shift in the way the info is presented next to images of her deceased child:

dark humor at its finest😌 let me cope in peace pls #pregnancy #fyp #viral

In another video, she mouths the speech made by Sarah Lynn in BoJack Horseman as she talks to the baby. “I know I’m smiling right now but the light inside me is dying,” she says.

Whatever you feel about these videos, they are not in violation of the user’s policy for TikTok, according to a statement the platform gave to Hashtag Hyena.

Our concern is also the well-being of our users, including the woman who shared her experience and those who may have viewed the content, and after careful review, we have removed the videos in question.

While it can be difficult for platforms like ours to balance the individual’s need for healing expression with the community’s expectation for a safe viewing experience, our own Community Guidelines determined this as the appropriate action to take.

And if you don’t want to see something so disturbing, you can always block her.
