If cisgender men understood all the physical toll being pregnant takes on the human body, we could live in a utopia.
Since there is no way for a cisgender man to literally feel what it is like to experience a full-term pregnancy, we are stuck watching a TikTok of a man saran wrapped melons to his body.
The man with melons strapped to his body is Maitland Hanley, a content creator and soon-to-be dad. Hanley’s partner Jessica Thoday is currently pregnant and Hanley wanted to get in on the action.
Which brings us back to a man strapping melons to his body…
As you can see from the images, Hanley had a very difficult time getting out of bed with his “pregnant” body.
Hanley then decided to do other things while “pregnant,” including miserably flailing around on the ground.
He also learned that simple tasks — such as putting your shoes on — is made 100 times more challenging.
And this is WITHOUT a tiny parasite kicking you in the ribs.
Let’s see what other things the “pregnant” Hanley can’t do. Here he is not being able to get out of a bathtub.
What Hanley does not understand is he cannot use his belly to support his weight (you know, because of a BABY being in there). So, when he attempted to rely on his belly, Thoday pushed him back in!
Oh, sweet child. This is only a small fraction of what pregnancy is like.
