Someone posted a photo to the Brierly Hill local Facebook group of a group of kids sitting in front of the Christmas tree, all in matching pajamas. Except one. A quotation was added onto the photo reading this as an explanation: “A friend of mine is married. Mother-in-law bought matching PJ’s for all kids EXCEPT the one that doesn’t belong to her son. Is she wrong?”
The mother-in-law is supposedly located in the UK, and the poster on Facebook offered this bit of perspective, writing, “Some people out there with no heart.”
Lots of people jumped in to condemn the mother-in-law who could so deliberately exclude a child in this way. But there were even more stories from people who had heard of this exact sort of thing happening, or even who had witnessed it in their own families.
But there are a few holdouts who think that the mother-in-law should be able to make whatever choice they want about what kind of gifts they buy and who they give them to. Even if they traumatize a kid.
