On Sunday, YouTuber Jake Paul defeated former UFC champion Tyron Woodley by split decision in Cleveland, ESPN reports, after several weeks of interviews and face-offs to build up anticipation for the match. Was it a real match? Did Woodley lose fair and square? Did he do it for the bag? We will never know. Maybe Jake Paul is actually an amazing boxer, which would be very painful to accept. But it was a close call.
Woodley has already demanded a rematch, Paul agreed to if Woodley gets a tattoo reading, “I love Jake Paul.”
“Get the tattoo and we will run it back. I’ve got a tattoo artist here!” he said. “He needs to get a tattoo quickly or we will find another opponent. Put it on his Instagram. A permanent tattoo. Then we can talk about it.”
That and this tweet were clearly designed to needle the loser:
The Internet is having trouble dealing with Paul’s win, too. He’s hated by so many, especially actual boxing fans…but he did win. How can we deal with this mentally and emotionally?
