If you spend more than 30 seconds writing your Tinder bio, you’ve probably already failed at it. An app where you swipe through photos while binge-watching Netflix just isn’t the place to pour out your life story, nor is it a dumping ground for a laundry list of demands regarding what you’re looking for in a life partner/hookup buddy.
But some people on Tinder are absolutely convinced that little bio section is the place for them to really hone their writing chops, sometimes dropping multiple paragraphs to show off their “humor” or “intellectualism” or just be completely condescending so as to kindly alert you to swipe left immediately and not waste your time.
And the thing is, some of these bios are actually just so ridiculously awful that they circle back around into becoming pure art. And art deserves to be seen and shared.
So one TikTok user has taken it upon herself to start doing dramatic readings of these unrivaled works of literature.
@jasminehaslostit kicked off her series in earlier August with a reading from Bryce, a 28-year-old who seems convinced he’s the universe’s gift to women everywhere.
And there are plenty of other men like Bryce, putting themselves up on a pedestal and waiting for women to adore them — and who have now had their work forever immortalized through Jasmine’s TikTok.
Other dramatic readings highlight profiles that get a little too condescending or specific about what the guy in question is looking for in a woman.
And naturally, some just get weird.
Jasmine’s videos have also inspired other TikTok users to start doing their own dramatizations of the weird bios they come across on the hellish app that is Tinder.
Remember fellas, the internet is forever! Even Tinder.
