In November 2021, Taylor Lautner proposed to now-fiancée Taylor Dome — and in a recent interview, the “Twilight” star revealed that Dome is taking his last name!

Things are about to get even more confusing for the pair than it already was if Lautner’s interview last week on The Kelly Clarkson Show is to be believed. He talked with Clarkson about the proposal, as well as the couple’s future life together.

The actor proudly showed off a photo from the proposal on the show, where Lautner is down on one knee in front of a clearly excitedly shocked Dome, a nurse the actor has dated since 2018. They are in the kitchen in front of a fireplace spilling over with candles and flowers, with a neon “Lautner” sign front and center.

“I love that you have the neon sign like, ‘Are you into this last name?’” Clarkson said.

Lautner laughed and said, “Cause we already share one name, so it’s going to be extra complicated.”

He went on, “We’re literally going to be the same person.”

In the interview, Lautner also added to Clarkson that the couple keeps “it super simple or complicated” when referring to one other by name.

Clarkson asked, and he explained that while he usually goes by his full first name, Dome typically shortens hers to Tay. However, some — no doubt cheeky — friends, he says, “just [say] ‘boy Tay’ and ‘girl Tay.’”

Clarkson joked that it was like they were in elementary school all over again.

People on social media, of course, can’t get enough of the hilarity of Taylor Lautner and his fiancée sharing a name, and this has resulted in some very comical memes.

A number of people have referenced Lautner’s previous, short-lived relationship with yet another Taylor: Taylor Swift, who Lautner alleges wrote “Back to December” about him.
