If you’ve been watching Euphoria, you know all about the ridiculously talented actress Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard.

On the show, Cassie is portrayed as being outwardly perfect but inwardly tumultuous. With her stunning looks, she is the object of desire.

But Sweeney has had to deal with online trolls calling her “ugly” — and recently she came out to speak about how the experience of being body-shamed affected her.

“Apparently I am trending on Twitter right now for being ugly, and I would never actually do this, like ever, but I think that it’s really important for people to see how words actually affect people,” she said at the time.

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Sweeney (who graces the cover) talked about her meltdown on Instagram in which she expressed how comments about her appearance caused her pain. Specifically, she included what happened before she went live.

Sweeney, 24, said that she had had her period on a day she was supposed to have a lingerie shoot for an ad campaign. Anxious about appearing bloated, she took some (probably bad) advice from the internet.

“I did not want to put a tampon in because I didn’t want to be bloated in the photos. I googled that you could take, like, three or four pills of birth control and mix it with Advil or Tylenol and it’ll make you stop your period,” she shared. She added that as soon as she arrived at the shoot, she felt “dizzy and nauseous.”

“I had a muffin and it did not make me feel good. All of a sudden, I threw up in the middle of this shoot, everywhere. I was a mess. I felt so embarrassed,” the actress continued. “I was jacked on so many different hormones. And I was appalled at myself because I’m always so on top of it and professional. I had to go home.”

Sweeney also said she had a falling out with a friend and had basically been crying and throwing up since the shoot. She saw her name trending online and took to Instagram Live.

Does she regret it? Not one bit. But she did feel embarrassed.
“It’s something people deal with on a daily basis. Am I embarrassed? Of course. I still don’t think everyone is going to see what I do.”
