Lance Bass of N*SYNC is facing backlash from the internet after joining in the growing inappropriate trend of TikTok users taking clips from Amber Heard’s testimony in the ongoing defamation trial with Johnny Depp to mock her.
In the video, which has since been deleted from his page, he wrote in the text overlay, “Reenacting Amber Heard’s testimony.”
“I lose my balance, at this point we’re sitting next to each other on the edge of the couch, I was on the edge of the couch,” Heard says in the audio clip. Bass over-acts in his reenactment of her description, flailing while maneuvering around his couch.
“I was just sitting there on this carpet, looking at this dirty carpet, wondering how I wound up on this carpet and why I never noticed that the carpet was so filthy before,” Heard states. In the video, Bass can be seen staring at (and sniffing) his carpet as if for the first time.
“I didn’t know what else to do, I didn’t know what to say, I didn’t know how to react.”
The video ends with leaves being thrown on Bass while he lies on the carpet. He captioned the video, “I’ve heard of dirty pop, but dirty carpet… that’s a new one. 🤔”
The singer added in the comments, “In honor of the trial starting back up…Had 👏 to 👏 do 👏 it!”
Folks of the internet, however, were not pleased with his TikTok and blasted him for making fun of domestic violence and sexual assault.
