D’Kodia Laine, a 23-year-old woman from Canberra Australia, has had her hands tattooed to help her identify her left hand from her right.
The tattoo artist, Lauren Winzer, inked the art on February 3rd at Hunter & Fox, a tattoo studio in Alexandria.
Classmates initially thought Laine was joking; she stated that the responses were laughter and surprise that she really went through with it. Her boyfriend is said to be thankful she will never confuse her right from left again.
Laine says that the solution to this issue came to her during a scavenger hunt last year. She was picked as the navigator for her team and, after giving the driver the wrong directions several times, her teammates drew a small “L” and “R” on her wrists to help her remember.

Laine says, “It started as a joke but it’s actually super useful and I don’t look dumb making an L with my fingers to figure it out.”

Some responses to the Instagram on Winzer’s account have been positive; her caption called the tattoo cute and “super functional” and others agreed. One woman even tagged her friends to point out the usefulness of the tattoo.
Laine, meanwhile, takes the supportive comments well and points out that she feels less dumb now that others have seen just how handy her tattoo actually is.
