Kylie Jenner is once again getting blasted on the internet for being “out of touch” after posting what amounts to a typical rich person flex photo on her Instagram.

The photo in question is a black and white shot of Kylie and her partner Travis Scott clinging to one another in a warm embrace between their two private jets. The photo’s caption reads, “You wanna take mine or yours?”

The post’s comments have been restricted, no doubt due to the influx of negative reactions to her supposed flex. The post went viral on Twitter, where folks accused the millionaire of being “a full time climate criminal” while “bragging” about “her absolute disregard for the planet.”

Kylie purchased her $72.8 million private jet, dubbed Kylie Air, shortly prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Its amenities include an entertainment room, master suite, and a large walk-in closet.

Twitter account CelebJets, an automated account that tracks celebrity private jets, revealed that Kylie has used her jet for trips as short as three minutes long.

There is no confirmation of whether or not the 24-year-old was on her private jet for that particular flight, which records show flew from Camarillo, California, to Van Nuys, California earlier this month. The same journey by car would have taken 40 minutes, depending on traffic, of course.

In addition to the three-minute flight, the Twitter account shows that Kylie’s jet regularly takes flights of 15 minutes or less.

People blasted Kylie on Twitter for her complete disregard for the environment.

They were quick to compare their own efforts to remain climate-neutral to the use of private jets, which according to a Transport & Environment report from May 2021 can emit 2 tons of CO2 in one hour alone. The report also says that private jets are 5 to 14 times more polluting than commercial planes.

Kylie’s out-of-touch statement is especially tacky, given that there is a global cost-of-living crisis with everyday folks struggling to make ends meet as rent and food prices skyrocket.
