Rapper Kodak Black as well as three others were shot early on Saturday outside a party hosted by Justin Bieber in a West Hollywood restaurant.
Bieber had performed a pre-Super Bowl concert at the Pacific Design Center prior to hosting the party, which was held at The Nice Guy restaurant about a mile away from the concert venue. Other guests at the after-party included Leonardo DiCaprio, Khloe Kardashian, Tobey Maguire, and Drake.
Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was leaving the party with Lil Baby and Gunna around 2:45 a.m. They were chatting outside of the venue on the corner of N. La Cienega Blvd when a fight broke out, according to a report by NBC News.
It is still unclear what sparked the fight that occurred outside the restaurant. According to TMZ’s report on the situation, people close to Kodak Black informed them that “upon exiting [the restaurant], somebody in Kodak’s crew got jumped by an unidentified assailant … and Kodak threw himself in the mix to help his pal out, apparently swinging on the person in effort to do so.”
Shortly after the 24-year-old Florida rapper joined the fight, ten gunshots were fired, hitting Kodak Black and three others.
According to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department, two victims were transported to hospitals for their gunshot wounds, while two others went to regional hospitals themselves for treatment. The LA Police Department reported that all victims were in stable condition.
TMZ reports there was at least one shooter involved in the altercation, as videos from multiple angles show a man in a dark hoodie carrying what looks like a pistol.Â
The investigation of the shooting is ongoing at present. The press release from the Los Angeles Police Department states that they are looking for a Black male suspect who fled south from the scene.
