On Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians, Kim and Khloe had a conversation about trust in relationships that shed light on Kim’s relationship with Pete Davidson and Khloe’s relationship with Tristan Thompson. The episode comes after Kardashian and Davidson broke up, though, so it’s a bit awkward.
In the conversation, Kim reminded Khloe that once she had asked Kim about trusting Davidson: “You asked me something once. You said, ‘How do you trust Pete?'” said Kim. “And I’m like, ‘I just do. Like, it’s a feeling.'”
During the filming for the episode, Khloe at the time was moving through the experience of discovering that her partner Tristan Thompson had cheated on her while they were working to conceive a second child via surrogate. The two have once child together, a daughter named True. Thompson had an affair with Maralee Nichols and fathered a child with her.
Khloe reflected on that: “We were in the best place [when he cheated]. So when we’re in the peak of our relationship, you go ahead and cheat on me?”
“I don’t even want to know what you do in the worst of our relationship. I’m just like, ‘Shame on me,’ almost. I know better and I didn’t do better because I had so much hope and, like, faith,” she said.
“It’s just a lot,” Khloe continued. “And, like, How do you trust? I don’t know,” she said. “But what I do know is that all of it sucks and it’s humiliating. It’s hurtful. I just don’t have anything else to give. I don’t know if I’m strong, I’m just numb to all of this sh*t.”
During the episode, viewers found out that Tristan had secretly proposed to Khloe before the two parted ways, but Khloe said she was not ready.
“I said, ‘I need to make sure this is a totally different relationship because I want to be proud to say I’m engaged to anyone,'” she said. “And that’s why I said, ‘I’m not comfortable accepting this right now because I’m not excited to tell my family.’ And as hurtful as that probably was for him to hear, it was the truth.”
As for Davidson, a friend of the comedian’s named Johnny Potenza, recently said that Davidson might have been the one to initiate the couple’s break-up. Potenza said that Kim’s relationship with her ex-husband Kanye West, who had been acting erratically and harassing both Kim and Davidson, proved to be too much for the comedian.
