Pete Davidson has made his reappearance in the stand-up comedy scene at The Hollywood Bowl on Thursday last week.
He took part in ‘Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival,’ and it is the first time Davidson has performed stand-up in the last three years.
It’s interesting to see him returning now, after months of abuse leveled at him by Kanye West for dating Kim Kardashian. West has written lyrics into his songs about attacking Davidson, released a music video of the song “Eazy” which showcases a claymation version of West burying Davidson alive, and sent his legions of fans after the comedian. He gave Davidson the rude nickname “Skete” and said that he has AIDS, all while dating new women and trying to get back together with Kim K.
Davidson apparently addressed the claim that he had AIDS during his stand-up routine last week, according to Entertainment Tonight. He joked about it, saying that West was probably right about it since he was a “genius” and made a crack about being humiliated, saying it’s “weird when you can’t do anything about it.”
Besides reacting to the AIDS comments by West, Davidson also quipped about friend Jack Harlow working with West on Donda 2. He said that it didn’t bother him, but it would be a very different story if Harlow were to attend West’s Sunday Service.
He also made a joke about the “before times” attending a basketball game with Chris Rock and Jon Stewart back in December 2021—before the infamous Will Smith Oscars slap, and before West began his harassment of Davidson and Kim K.
West has recently shifted focus and laid low on social media, and a source told Entertainment Tonight that “Kanye has been laying low and focusing on healing. He is trying to disconnect from all the drama that happened between him and Kim. He is focused on taking care of himself, getting healthier, and removing himself from all the craziness.
“He cares deeply about his family and kids. They are his number one priority and he’s working on himself.”
