Oh boy, get ready to see Jason Momoa’s butt.
Jason Momoa recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and the host took a second to show off a picture that Momoa shared on Instagram. In the photo, the 43-year-old actor was wearing a beige thong-style slip of clothing on a fishing trip.
“That’s a traditional malo, it’s what the Hawaiians wear,” Momoa explained to Kimmel. He also explained that he took up the clothing while filming Apple TV+’s Chief of War.
He said that the malo was worn “every day” for the series, which is set in 18th Century Hawaii.
“I was just getting ready for the role, cause I like to get into character, and so I was tanning my white ass,” Momoa said to Kimmel. “It was a second — you go past and he just happened to take a little photo.
Kimmel quipped that the fish must feel a deep sense of betrayal to watch Aquaman fishing them. Then he asked about the malo, “And that’s comfortable?”
“Oh my God, yes. I actually don’t even like wearing clothes anymore,” Momoa responded. “I’m in it every day. I wear it all the time.”
Kimmel then asked if he was wearing a malo under his clothing right then and Momoa promptly got up from his seat and removed his jacket and clothing.
And yup: he was wearing a malo!
Momoa showed off his butt and toned physique as Jimmy laughed. “Let me tell you, I’ve never felt more like Danny DeVito than I do right now.”
A video shared on Momoa’s Instagram story in October showed him wearing the malo while pulling in fish; another showed him posing with a friend and their pair of catches. While in Hawaii, Momoa also posted a picture of himself with a Mananalu water bottle to promote ditching single use plastics.
