Julia Fox’s January 15 interview with Interview magazine about her newfound relationship with Kanye West has left fashion model Ireland Baldwin wholly unimpressed.
Fox first met West on New Year’s Eve, and their relationship has been a whirlwind of elaborately opulent dates. They have all been heavily photographed and spread like wildfire online as the actress has taken interviews from reporters and written her own posts about the relationship as well.
In the recent phone interview with Interview magazine, Fox chatted with them about how perfect her relationship with West was, including boxing up all of her old clothes and replacing her entire wardrobe.
“After meeting him, a couple days later, all my shit was in boxes, gone. It was so cathartic. It wasn’t like I was just packing up my old clothes, it was like I was packing up my old life. I was like making that very conscious decision to really put everything in the box. To let go of the past.”
Ireland Baldwin, however, has different opinions about this “romantic” gesture from Kanye West.
She shared a screenshot of the interview on her Instagram story on Monday morning, saying, “I’m so sorry for opening this can of worms but this is the most ridiculously embarrassing thing I’ve ever read in my life.”

Shortly after, Baldwin included a TikTok video posted by i-D magazine of Fox and West at Couture Fashion Week in Paris with the caption “Please tell me this is just performance art.” Fox is wearing a full black leather look complete with gold accessories and dramatic makeup, while West wears full leather and a spandex head mask with slits to see through.

Later in the Interview article, Fox said, “I’m really surrendering. For someone like me who’s such a control freak and always so used to taking care of myself, to just let go and be taken care of is foreign at this point in life.”
It isn’t exactly clear what Baldwin disapproves of: the controlling nature of replacing Fox’s entire wardrobe, the idea of Fox and West’s relationship, or the publicity around it all.
