TikTok is filled with bad dating stories, and one woman’s entry into the ledger has viewers congratulating her on the bullet she ultimately dodged.

Nik (@__nikk1) prepped her followers by explaining that she matched with a guy on a dating app and when they met up in person, they quickly hit it off, spending six hours out on the town getting to know one another.

Everything seemed like it was going wonderfully, and Nik even made plans with her date, Josh, to see him again the following Sunday.

But during the days in between, Nik says Josh seemed like he was ghosting her.

“Which I understood to an extent because he was on a work trip,” she said. “But he wasn’t really communicating at all.”

And when she tried to confirm their Sunday date, he simply never responded, letting the day slip by.

Josh did eventually come back around — and pretended like he hadn’t just totally bailed on their date.

Nik wasn’t willing to let it slide, so she politely called him out, wanting to get to the bottom of what was going on.

Josh came back with a response completely out of line from his previous texts, accusing Nik of purposely going to the bathroom to avoid paying for part of their dinner.

“I hate it when girls do that; it’s exceptionally rude and cheap; and really disrespectful and I felt like you really didn’t care despite what I felt from you,” he wrote, noting that his interpretation of events didn’t make him “hot with insane urgency” to go on another date with her — although he’d seemed pretty eager before.

The two went back and forth for a minute, with Nik explaining that hadn’t been her intention.

But Josh only doubled down, saying that one of the traits he’s looking for in a woman “is for them to innately feel the need to pay for what they ordered (or at least offer) without assuming I’ll cover it.”

“Just because I have a f—king trust fund doesn’t [mean] I like using it to cover other girls drinks, it’s so rude,” he wrote.

Nik followed up with a second video showing how, actually, Josh chose the restaurant and made the reservation, and also showing how interested he initially seemed in a second date.

The receipts were extensive enough that viewers wasted no time congratulating Nik on avoiding all the drama Josh could have brought into her life if she hadn’t discovered this side of him as quickly as she did.

“This is classic gaslighting and the cherry on top was ‘do not respond’ I wouldn’t have given that satisfaction…I would have [hit] him with receipts,” wrote @karlakrawdad.

“gaslighting, disappearing for days, some outrageous story to cover up his absence,” @kathrynverb pointed out, sharing a series of red flag emojis. “Ladies don’t ever think this behavior is normal or okay.”

“oh my god he sounds insufferable. you dodged a bullet, bestie,” said @carrottlime.

Plus the whole thing was just weird.

“He didn’t want to take responsibility for ghosting so he tried a new direction,” @smolyeti suggested, while @hndrcksn said that “he 874% does not have a trust fund.”

“As someone who’s only dated men w money, and has dated someone w a trust fund… this man is broke,” @blacknbitchy agreed.

Nik said that ultimately she was just “so caught off guard” by the sudden change in behavior, and said she stopped responding to his texts after the last one she showed.

“Not worth the time that’s for sure,” she wrote.
