The unrealistic beauty standards set for women have pushed many into modifying appearances at an early age. And 20-year-old Barbara Hovermale is no exception.
Hovermale, who now identifies as nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, began sharing at nine years old. As they grew older, they continued to conform to the standards deemed acceptable by society.
However, all that changed after they met Jayvien Peakf, who became their boyfriend and encouraged them to embrace a more natural look.
Now, Hovermale is “much more confident” and their body has actually outgrown their boyfriend’s hair. The duo has vowed to “never touch their hair again,” admitting that the hair has become something they enjoy rubbing and playing with it when they’re together.
Hovermale is an avid social media user and regularly shares her body hair positivity across platforms. They recently told followers that their boyfriend “completely embraces their body hair as they come” and passionately loves them.

Despite the massive amount of love and encouragement they receive from loved ones and followers, they also have to deal with negative comments online.
One TikToker decided to be rude and commented on Hovermale’s boyfriend. The user called Peakf a “poor man,” before adding that Hovermale probably had more hair on their legs than he did.
Of course, Hovermale wasn’t fazed by this comment and posted a clip showing a side-by-side comparison of their leg next to Peakf’s.
The body-positive influencer has garnered almost 80,000 followers on TikTok. And now spends time encouraging others to embrace their body hair.
One user shared that Hovermale motivated them to wear a bikini for the first time, ever.
